This 96-page grimoire holds adventure and peril for investigators of the Arkham Horror Roleplaying Game, whether new to the mythos or veterans of previous investigations. It’s a natural companion to the Dreams of Kingsport book, and also ideal for players who’ve completed The Hungering Abyss starter box or the adventures contained within Arkham Mysteries.
Kingsport Mysteries features three full-length adventures by three experts of the arcane, the unsettling, and the horrific. In Safe Harbor by Leah Bethany Hawthorne, investigators will be asked to solve a grisly murder—but who is the victim, and who is the monster? Things are seldom as simple as they appear! Leap of Faith by Jessica Gyer jumps into the dreams of children, which may not be as innocent or as safe as they appear. Will the investigators find the secret of their latest game, or will Kingsport’s children have their dreams stolen from them? And in Dreams of Shrouded Silk by Lydia Suen, the dreams of all of Kingsport are imperiled, with only a few brave guardians standing against the silence of an empty night. The mists that gather in the night are more than merely chilling, but may have a sinister origin.
Each of these adventures is presented in an easy-to-follow format, with full explanations for gamemasters of any experience level followed by clear and detailed breakdowns of each scene. The characters in the dramas that unfold are given plenty of motivation and their goals and methods explained, so GMs have plenty of material to embroider if needed. Player and character hooks are also provided, including guidance for connecting all three mysteries together into a larger campaign. Whether your GM style is improvisational or architectural, you’ll find the tools you need for your table.
