Dreamers, seekers of mystery and lost knowledge, and investigators-all—it’s time once again for another peek at Dreams of Kingsport, the first setting guide for the Arkham Horror RPG. This will also be the last in this series of articles for this supplement, because today we’ll be looking at the fifth and final chapter of the book. Like in the Core Rulebook, we’re ending with an adventure, and this one is called Dream Manifest. It’s called that because, well, it features the two big new locations we’ve presented in this book—Kingsport and the Dreamlands.
In this adventure the group starts off in Kingsport to investigate a truly bizarre situation: nobody in town seems to be able to speak or really communicate at all, because when they try to a burst of colorful butterflies spring forth from their mouths! The entire town is a flurry of beautiful, brilliant wings and a lot of confused and disturbed townsfolk. Of course, the mayor wants to get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible (especially with election season just around the corner). Will you be able to figure out what’s going on and put an end to this strangeness? There’s also the matter of a missing orphan to look into, but that’s probably not related, right?
I had a lot of fun writing this one with Christopher Hunt, and we hope that you enjoy diving into the mystery and exploring some of what this enchanting book has to offer.
